In a clear sign of growth, the SPS Group has head hunted a new accountant to join its financial team. James Smedley, 31, has joined the SPS Group in Neptune Street, Hull, taking on a new role as Financial Controller, working alongside Financial Director Tony Ford. James qualified as a chartered accountant and has been working at a large regional accountancy practice for the past decade where he has carried out the audits for the SPS Group. James said: “I have known the directors and staff at SPS for nine years through carrying out their financial audits. So I already knew about how progressive and forward thinking the business was and I was delighted when I was offered this position.” James role includes getting involved in every part of the business and looking at more efficient ways of operating. He is tasked with helping to move the Group forward and is particularly involved in the technical division which is a rapidly growing area of the business.
